Thanks to all of you who came out to the first-ever Write-O-Rama this past Saturday. What an amazing group of writers in memoir, personal essay, fiction, poetry, plays, television, and even songs! You were an inspiration to each other and to me. We laughed, we cried (kidding…I think), wrote and shared, analyzed an excerpt from a published work, identified our “why” for writing, and made a specific commitment to our writing for this week. In other words, we did a LOT in two hours!
So sorry I missed it. Thank you for sending out these tips. I like all of them, but the knowing of my "why" is my rocket fuel. If I forget why I'm writing I spiral into all those pesky demons of self-doubt, laziness, procrastination.....
"Importance of knowing my creative why." It's incredibly helpful for focusing creative energy productively and meaningfully. I'm looking forward to being able to join the next Write-O-Rama.
I love “you do you". There is so much writing advice about how it "must" be done.

This is a great post. Essential reading for writers! Plus, I'm sure you hear this all the time, but the name of your newsletter is brilliant!
