I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be co-hosting a FREE writing workshop, “Writing to Make a Difference,” on Zoom in just a few weeks with my great pal, activist/advocate Erin Kane. And you’re all invited!
What’s the catch? There is none. These are dark times, and a lot of us feel like we can’t just sit still—we need to do something. I want to use my experience as a former columnist for PopMatters and contributing opinion writer for The Boston Globe to help you make a difference through your own writing.
Here’s what the workshop’s all about:
Are events of the day churning up strong reactions in you? Are you feeling the urge to speak out, take action, and write something that will make a real impact? Learn how to channel your thoughts and feelings about the state of the world into powerful, productive writing at this FREE two-hour workshop on Zoom on Saturday, May 10, from noon - 2 p.m. E.T. Registration is required.
Maybe you want to argue against cuts to medical research funding, threats to free speech, or deportations of innocent people. Or maybe you want to advocate on behalf of causes close to your heart, like the environment or care for children with Autism. We’ll help you discover your voice (it’s in there!) and give you guidance on various forms of persuasive writing, such as opinion pieces, social media posts, letters to the editor, newsletter articles, scripts for talking to representatives, and more.
Taught by me (creativity author/TEDx speaker, writing coach, and writer of opinion pieces and this newsletter) and advocate, activist, and creator of The Arc Storytellers, Erin Kane, this workshop will get you fired up and give you the tools to start writing to make a difference.
Don’t miss out. Register today!!! We can’t wait to see you there.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me at meta@metawagner.com or post them here.
We so need something like this right now!
