I'm a big fan--these days--of slow and small. I very much want to get into a routine for the start of the year, in which I write every day and generate massive amounts of prose towards completion of my WIP. But I know that's not going to happen. So I'm setting small goals, and also not even defining it as a daily thing. That will come.
And on another note, I like the Cezanne/Hemingway reference. I often get to a point where I can feel the urge to write but it's not fully formed yet. So I turn to other art forms to get me started, like drawing (which I'm terrible at) or playing music (which I'm ok at).
Henriette, that's another great tip - to not only be inspired by others' creative style and works but to loosen lup by doing other forms of creativity you enjoy (and where there's no pressure to necessarily be good).
You will!!
Good advice. I hope to finish my book in slow and steady steps!
